Most tissues hold a layer of air close to our body to keep us warm. They also reflect the infrared radiation, more commonly known as heat, back to us.

Now, scientists have developed a material to keep users cooler without using any tissue. The new material, made from a common plastic called polyethylene, is a thin layer with nanometric holes that allow the release of infrared radiation, water vapor (ie sweat), and air. At the same time, the bright white fabric strongly reflects the visible light, preventing it from warming the person dressing.
